Story Behind EDE Laboratory Logo
Hey there! I'm so excited to share a little about how I created the EDE Laboratory logo. But first, let me tell you a bit about what EDE is and how I got the opportunity to create the logo and brand identity. EDE Laboratory (Enterprise Data Engineering) is a newly formed lab at Telkom University. It was separated from the previous lab, Daspro, which was a practicum laboratory and has now become a research laboratory. Based on this, EDE Lab carries the characteristics and identity of Daspro Laboratory as well as Prodase, which is the root of the lab. As a part of the creative team of both Daspro and EDE, I was given the chance to build the logo for our lab.
To begin the process, I started with the first step - creating a draft.

The Draft
I created this draft by sketching out some basic ideas. However, there were some key points that formed the basis for creating the logo, as I mentioned earlier. These were the characteristics and identity carried over from the previous lab, which consisted of three keywords: "Fast," "Smart," and "Efficient." From these three words, I imagined various elements that could represent speed and efficiency, while also having a strong foundation. This led to the creation of a new slogan - "Solid." Additionally, due to the lab being very new and undergoing constant changes, a new identity emerged - "Agile." This represented our ability to quickly and efficiently adapt to changes, while still maintaining a solid foundation that embodies our identity.
After the brainstorming process, a new framework for the logo emerged, which is now the current EDE Laboratory logo.
